In an industry driven by trends and repetition, we focus on perception, process, and intention. Our education is grounded in design principles that help hairdressers train their eye, trust their judgment, and create work that is an extension of themselves.

Cody is a hairdresser, educator, and founder of point&line education.
With a background in fine arts, Cody approaches hairdressing as a design discipline—equal parts craft, art, science, and engineering. His educational programs revolve around fundamental principles of visual expression, material understanding, and intentional decision-making, rather than trend-based or product-driven instruction.
Since 2011, Cody has developed and led advanced education for hairdressers across the country. focusing on creative autonomy and long-term mastery. His teaching is rooted in the belief that education should equip individuals to think critically, and develop their own point of view.
Through point&line, he offers principle-based education designed to help hairdressers think independently and create work that is both relevant and personal. His programs challenge conventional industry models and offer an alternative to reactive, over-commercialized education. Emphasizing clarity, structure, and authorship in both process and outcome.

Tatum is a hairdresser, educator, and longtime collaborator at Point & Line Education.
She began teaching advanced hairdressing education in the early 2000s and is known for her intuitive approach to design and refined observation. Her work emphasizes curation over excess—helping hairdressers see more clearly, edit more intentionally, and make confident decisions rooted in what’s already present.
An artist and lifelong learner, Tatum approaches hairdressing as a living practice shaped by environment, material, and mood. She brings a grounded, human perspective to education—encouraging curiosity, attention, and trust in one’s instincts rather than reliance on formulas or trends.
Through point&line, Tatum co-leads education that values perception, restraint, and creative voice, guiding hairdressers toward work that feels both personal and enduring.
